A former choir-boy, of Eurasian descent, raised in Hong Kong and the UK, Luke’s sound builds upon the spirit of artists such as Morrissey, Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Elliot Smith.
Recorded by Ben Tse, of respected local indie outfit The Lovesong, INSPIRED BY PEOPLE combines candid opinion, honest reflection, and optimism, with plenty of musical hooks and warm production.
A well-known figure in the Hong Kong indie music scene – having performed at the Rock-it Festival and venues including Fringe Club, Edge, Mink, HKU, City U, Warehouse, and many more – Luke’s warm baritone and live flair has already won him a cult following.
Unsurprisingly, the Hong Kong media has been quick to notice: Luke has been featured on ATV World’s Inside Story, I-Cable with Paul Wong, RTHK Radio, SCMP, BC Magazine, and West East Magazine.
A self-taught musician, having picked up the guitar while traveling in Berlin, Luke is not your average rocker. In fact, he leads a double life. By night he is a natural entertainer, while by day this tunesmith is on his way to becoming a Doctor of Dentistry. Are the two incompatible? Luke doesn’t think so, stating that his work is all about people.
