Details:

Dustin O’Halloran’s soundtrack to An American Affair is beautiful, restrained, haunting music. Centered around the composer’s spare, aching piano parts, lovely bits of accompaniment eddy up at times, as well – strings in “Waltz #1,” cello in “Bedroom Window,” oboe in “What Is Unknown.” At the heart of every piece, though, is O’Halloran’s delicate and melancholy piano, which is indebted equally to Chopin and Michael Nyman. Sad, but gorgeous. – markeefe, rateyourmusic
