About “A Picture Of Her” (Japanese Only)
自主制作でのDemoやDocument not foundとのsplit EPのリリースを経て発売された待望の作品。Friend of Mine Compilationにも収録の彼等の代表曲とも言える”owesome”のニューテイク含む計５曲を、toeの美濃氏をエンジニアに迎えることで、ライブでの迫力のある演奏と同等な、明確な焦点と構図で形を作るベースとドラムのアクティブな激情と対比する、光と線と色を奏でるセンシティブな２本のギターの浮遊感や叙情のコントラストを見事に再現した文句の無い完成度に仕上げている。そのインスト部分は、toeはもちろん初期のPeleやGhost & Vodka、American Football、そしてThe Player Pianoなどの爽快さと美麗さを備えたポストロックバンドを彷彿させるが、さらに憂いを込めた歌声を挿入することで彼等にしか出せない儚さ増した独特なエモーショナルなロックを聴かせる。それはまるで、ファインダー越しに覗く向こうで、放っておけば流れて消えてしまう一瞬を閃光で切り取った鮮紅な肖像として風景の中の彼女の表情を心の印画紙に焼付けたような何時までも忘れたくない想い出に似ている。
