Dickson Dee has been engaged in the music industry for more than 20 years. His career started from importing European independent labels to Hong Kong, China and Taiwan; followed by establishing his own music label, organizing concerts etc. His experience includes distribution, import/export, creation, publishing, promotion, artist management and other kinds of works in the industry. He has made a great contribution to the development of independent music in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.
Besides concerts, Dickson also appears in arts academy and university for workshops and lectures to share his experiences with students, hoping to trigger their interest on sound art and music; furthermore, to give them a better understanding on the different aspects of music.

Zbigniew Karkowski
Zbigniew was born in Cracow, Poland and has lived and studied in Sweden, Netherlands and Tokyo. He works actively as a composer of instrumental music, electro-acoustic media compositions and computer music; as well as music for film, video, theatre and dance. He was a member of an internationally acclaimed ‘music/technology’ group SENSORBAND with which he often performed network concerts via ISDN or Internet.
He has also given workshops and lectures worldwide, collaborated with several experimental groups and artists. He has extensively toured and his music has been performed at over 70 experimental music festivals worldwide. 這是一張讓人意外,且需要時間消化的噪音唱片。在Karkowski參與的情況下,居然沒有極高的音量,反而處處透著隱喻般的聲響佈局。正如這張3寸唱片的的名字:止:氣——在聲音的動靜之間,探索陰陽的奧義。
ZK和Dickson的上一張專輯叫“陰陽復仇記(Revenge of Ying And Yang)”,作為首次合作,高音量、高壓迫性的噪音令專輯顯得陽盛陰衰。這張“Staticizer(止:氣)”則有點反其道行之的意思。或者是經過磨合之後,二人開始在創作上有更多的企圖,而不僅僅滿足於現成的聲響碰撞。
“Staticizer(止:氣)”沒有強烈的噪音。所謂強烈,是指大音量、大動態、高節奏的聲響。 21分鐘長的作品,主要以Drone長音疊加構成。而聲音結構本身也並不復雜。音層之間的疊加與遞減,始終維持在一個較低的能量水平。如果我們將那些強橫爆裂的噪音定義為“陽”,那這首作品中的聲音則可以被稱為“陰”——介於Dark Ambient、噪音和工業噪音之間,將聲音能量收斂在一個窄小、密閉的虛構環境內。雖然這種聽覺經驗可以類比Dark Ambient和工業噪音的某些作品,但是作為更加不考慮Ambient效果營造的音樂風格,這首噪音作品的聆聽經驗還是相當新鮮的。更何況其中還有Dickson的精細佈局與Karkowski偶發式聲響相互滲透又暗中抗衡,更具玩味。
當然,這張唱片絕對不會是“陰陽復仇記”的續作。從作品一開始,我們就不難發現ZK和Dickson希望透過這張專輯,將噪音推向我們慣常認知的另一面。只是我個人更喜歡將它看成是一次對前作的複仇——在一次陽性的聲響爆炸後的陰謀復辟。
